Korail announced the sale of the Korail Airport Railroad yesterday to a private KB Bank equity trust fund which is a consortium between KB and the Industrial Bank of Korea. Korail sold 65.9% of its shares in the airport railroad, also known by its brand name A’REX,
Update: This station is now scheduled to open on March 26 2016.
Following the opening of Cheongna International City Station on the Airport Railroad last year, another new stop is expected to open at the end of 2015.
As you might have guessed, Yeongjong Station (영종역) is on Yeongjong Island
KTXs have been operating in the Incheon area via the airport railroad for over 2 years now, but soon it may be even easier for those living in the southern part of the city as well as parts of Gyeonggi-do to take the KTX.
