Looking for KTX schedules to and from Incheon International Airport? See our Incheon Airport KTX page

That’s right, it’s here. Often one of the things that has been mentioned in various plans over the last few years has been the connection of the KTX services to Incheon International airport. You may have seen hints to it in promotional videos like this cringe-worthy 2012 Yeosu Expo video where an “international traveller” was whisked away to the expo in a KTX in the hopes that it might have been completed by then. Of course in reality you had to take a bus or the airport express to Seoul Station and then transfer to the high-speed rail line.

It was also part of Korea’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics to be held in Pyeongchang, originally advertised as taking only 68 minutes to get to Olympic venues which the Land Ministry quickly refuted.

The connection at Susaek (수색) between the high-speed rail line and the airport metro line was set to open earlier this year but was delayed after an issue with signals. Now KTX trains are set to begin operating from Incheon International Airport from 30 June 2014. It will be interesting to see what type of demand there is for the services, especially for those coming in from overseas who are tired and just want to quickly go home.

Please let us know if you’ve been on the new services once they’re running!

  • I love Korea but you can't find the schedule on Korail website. They should really learn from the JR website...I spent the last 40 mins trying to find schedule...nothing from Incheon to Busan....
