Seoul is rolling out new traffic signals for bus lanes across the city. The lights are in the shape of a bus, making it clearer to road users that the lights are for the bus lanes only.
A trial set of signals have been in operation at the Eulji 2-ga intersection since May and a survey of Seoul citizens showed that 61% thought they were a good idea.
The buses signals appear in all three colors and will be installed in 122 different places where bus signals differ from signals for normal traffic. Seoul and the National Police Agency said that the lights would remove any confusion for drivers and prevent traffic accidents.
Hi Andy, thanks for posting this. I just saw one of these lights this morning, somewhere between Ewha U and and Seodaemun Station, and wondered if I had just never noticed before. Looks good!
I take that back—it was at Severance Hospital.
No worries. I actually noticed that the same lights are installed here in Sejong.
