Airport Railroad takes over Incheon Airport Maglev Operations

Seoul Economy reports that the Airport Railroad Corporation (A’REX) took over operations for the Incheon Airport Maglev from July 1 2016.

A’REX, a consortium between KB and the Industrial Bank of Korea, was selected through a tender process and will be responsible for overall operations, maintenance and passenger information for three years until June 2019.

The selection is an obvious choice and will hopefully mean improved integration between the two systems at the international terminal in the future. The car depots are also conveniently next to each other at Yongyu Station.

The 6.1km Incheon Airport Maglev opened on February 3 this year, runs from 9am to 5:45pm and is currently free to ride.
